Chelsea's £35m purchase of Danny Drinkwater from Leicester City, Serge Aurier's £23m move from PSG to Tottenham and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain's £35m switch from Arsenal to Liverpool were the standout deals on a relatively tame transfer deadline day.

Premier League clubs took their transfer deadline day spending to a record £210m before the window slammed shut, but some of the most anticipated moves failed to come off.
