Cristiano Ronaldo: Real open to letting star leave

Sky Sports' Spanish football expert Guillem Balague believes Real Madrid would be willing to let Cristiano Ronaldo leave the Bernabeu. Manchester United have again been linked with a move for their former striker, but Balague says there could be complications over the cost. “Ronaldo’s message is he wants to leave,” said Balague. “Real would love to see a fight between PSG and Man Utd, but the situation is more complicated than simply being interested in the player. To add to a net annual salary demand of around £44m, Real would also demand around £89m for Ronaldo, which is an almighty expense for a player who would arrive aged 33.”

Without him, Sanchez simply cannot go to United.”

Simon Mignolet: Liverpool keeper ‘considers future’

Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet has admitted that his future may lie away from Anfield. The stopper has become frustrated with Jurgen Klopp’s rotation policy and his last start was against Burnley on 1 January. He told Sky Sports: “After the game against Burnley I had a conversation with the coach, among other things about his ongoing rotation. I did not find that a healthy situation for a goalkeeper. My place on the bench against [Man] City confirmed his words. I am not satisfied with that [being dropped] but you have to respect a decision of the trainer.”
