Chelsea 2 Paris Saint Germain 0 [3-3 on aggregate, Chelsea win on away goals]. Demba Ba sent Stamford Bridge barmy on Tuesday night with a scrambled goal three minutes from the end of a dramatic Champions League quarter-final that put Chelsea into the last four.

The Senegalese striker, who has netted just three times this season in the Premier League and has fallen below even Fernando Torres in the pecking order, can't have scored many uglier goals than the one he somehow scuffed into the roof of the PSG net, but it was a priceless strike all the same. "It all happened so quick," said Ba later. "I just do what I have to do when I get chances. I didn't have chances this season but tonight I took it."
