TheWeek.co.uk, the website of the UK's most popular current affairs digest magazine, is looking for a full-time editorial intern.

The paid internship is initially for two weeks, with a view to hiring someone for a permanent position, and is to start ASAP.

The right candidate will have worked on their student paper and have at least six months relevant experience at a news organisation. They need to be a quick-learner, able to juggle lots of tasks, and be genuinely interested in a career in current affairs journalism.

Proven writing skills and a high level of social media awareness are essential. Working knowledge of another language, particularly Arabic or Chinese is an advantage.

The intern will get lots of opportunities to write and rack up by-lines on a variety of subjects, as well as learn valuable CMS and web production skills.

TheWeek.co.uk is produced by a small team and run by experienced editors. The right person will be given plenty of responsibility and opportunities to involve themselves in the newly rebranded website (formerly The First Post).

Please only apply if you are serious about a career in journalism and are available immediately.
