Jogger discovers abandoned lion cub in the Netherlands

Police in the Netherlands are investigating how a lion cub came to be abandoned near the city of Utrecht. The caged animal was found in a field by a jogger, who contacted officials. After being examined by a vet, the cub was transferred to a big cat sanctuary in the north of the country.

Bus diver fired after letting monkey take the wheel

A bus driver in the Indian state of Karnataka has been suspended from duty, after video footage of him allowing a monkey to take the wheel of the bus he was driving went viral. The 36-year-old driver, named as M Prakash, allowed the Gray Langur monkey to steer the bus while he changed gears.

Driver sets fire to speed camera

A Taiwanese man has admitted to police that he set fire to a speed camera in a bid to destroy evidence of his offence. Officials say that 37-year-old was caught on CCTV placing tyres around the base of the camera before setting it alight. The driver also admitted to driving past the camera at 120kmh (75mph), twice the legal speed limit.
