Dead brothel owner wins Nevada election

A brothel owner and reality TV star who died last month after a party celebrating his 72nd birthday has won a seat in Nevada’s state assembly. Dennis Hof, who ran as a Republican, defeated his Democratic challenger by more than 7,000 votes. According to state law, county officials will now appoint a Republican to take his place.
