Barbadian singer Rihanna risked rousing the ire of animal rights campaigners and the soberly dressed French fashion set with her choice of outfit on the final day of Paris fashion week yesterday.

She turned up at the Miu Miu Spring/Summer 2011 show wearing a white fur stole (above). The 22-year-old is a frequent wearer of fur and already has a Facegroup dedicated to her called '10,000 People to get Rihanna to stop wearing fur!'.

Rihanna's overall ensemble - a quirky, low-cut patterned dress plus ruby heels paired with blue socks - also threatened to draw a sniffy response from Parisian fashionistas.

Yet the look was perfect for a show by Miu Miu - the Italian label that is Prada's playful little sister. For Spring/Summer 2011 Miuccia Prada unveiled skirts, jackets and bags with cartoonish prints. Star prints and comic-style 'pows' were splashed across straight knee-length skirts and clutch bags.

Others in the front row at Miu Miu included US actress Dakota Fanning and British TV presenter Alexa Chung.

Miu Miu was one of three high-profile shows on the last day of Paris fashion week. After seven years at Hermes, Jean Paul Gaultier presented his final collection with a dramatic show - using horses on the runway to complement the riding-inspired clothes, such as jodhpur shorts.

Equally flamboyant was Marc Jacobs' show for Louis Vuitton. Backstage he described his disco-inspired collection as "total camp". Sequinned panda tops, white trouser suits and zebra stripes marked an abrupt turnaround from last season's Mad Men-inspired look. ·

I like the look actually - the dress and heel/sock combo is working for me, and I dig the sexy edgy Dorothy from Wizard of Oz look. While the dress is really revealing (thank god for Stylin' Tape !), I like her overall style.
