Kate Moss hits back with nude jewellery shots
The Topshop experiment may be over - but Kate Moss proves she’s not
One or two of the London papers have got the idea that because supermodel Kate Moss and Topshop owner Philip Green have come to the end of the road with the Kate Moss Collections - the 14th and final one will be unveiled this October - that Kate is the loser.
Well, ex-cu-u-u-u-se me, as any self-respecting fashionista might say. Have these journalists not seen the latest ad campaign for American jeweller David Yurman (a taste of which is reproduced above)? If they had, they would never have written such nonsense.
"Moss and Green are parting company because her contract to provide regular collections is up and she's quite sensibly decided to draw a line under it," a watcher of the fashion scene told The First Post. "And let's face it - good for Kate. Always fashion conscious, she's leaving at the right time."
By which our source meant that Topshop isn't, well, quite the teenage mecca it once was. Yes, the girls are still piling in on a Saturday morning, but they're going to H&M too, and, crucially, shopping online at Asos.
Meanwhile, with her 30th Vogue cover this month and the David Yurman campaign among others, Moss continues to prove her extraordinary staying power as a model.
To prove the point, The First Post has dug up a similar butt-naked pose from an earlier ad campaign for Calvin Klein Obsession.
