The producer of the hit American musical show Glee has been forced to issue a 'no sex on set' ban, he has revealed. His comments come a week after two of the show's young stars, Jenna Ushkowitz and Kevin McHale, were photographed together in Monaco and London.

Ryan Murphy, one of Glee's co-creators, has told Heat magazine that he had to tell his cast not to have sex with each other in their trailers on set. He says that he was forced to issue the guidelines to prevent burgeoning romances between some of the show's stars as well as to maintain discipline.

Although the show is set in a fictional Ohio high school, the average age of the actors and actresses who playing the school choir students is around 24.

Despite this, Murphy insists it is still unprofessional for his "young and hormonal" cast to act on their urges while at work. "I've certainly dated people I've worked with and, you know, when you work on a set for 18 hours a day, I think it's natural. But I have a rule: don't do it in your trailer."

Some of the actors, he added, had "broken that rule on many occasions".

Although Murphy would not name any names, his revelations come a week after McHale, 22, and Jenna Ushkowitz, 24, were spotted looking very much an item at a London nightclub. The pair, who play boyfriend and girlfriend Artie and Tina on the show, were also photographed looking – um - gleeful together on a beach in Monaco. ·
