Actor said to be ‘crushed’ over Kathlyn’s desire to become Stephen
Warren Beatty, the Hollywood actor whose womanising was immortalised in his ex-girlfriend Carly Simon's 1972 hit song You're So Vain, is said to be "crushed" by his 18-year-old daughter Kathlyn's plans to have a sex change operation.
According to US reports, Kathlyn Beatty, the eldest daughter of Warren and his wife, actress Annette Bening, has changed her name to Stephen Ira. The National Enquirer reported that Kathlyn has been attending college dressed as a man.
Beatty and Bening's daughter is also said to have started a Facebook page as Stephen Ira, where she posted a picture of herself in a man's suit and tie. In the 2004 photo above, Kathlyn, then 13, is standing next to her father.
Kathlyn reportedly told her parents that once she turned 18 she would pursue her plan to become a man. Her situation echoes that of Chastity Bono, the daughter of singers Sonny and Cher. Although she initally came out as a lesbian at 18, Chastity later underwent sex reassignment and changed her name to Chaz. Now 41, Chaz Bono legally became a male in May this year.
Beatty, 73, was linked to a string of famous women such as Natalie Wood, Julie Christie and Madonna before marrying his Bugsy co-star Annette Bening in 1992.
A source told the Enquirer that Beatty was "beside himself" over the situation. "He and Annette have tried to deal with this over the years when their daughter was younger, but she's determined to go ahead with the transgender operation, just like Chastity [Bono]." ·

Any penis that is created for you will never bring you the satisfaction that your own body is meant to. You may wake up in twenty years and cry for the mistake made in an adolescent moment. Avoid this soul-destroying action.
Remember, a hundred years ago, this surgery would not be an option for you. One of the challenges of living as a privileged young person in today's society is the burden of having too many choices.
Look in the mirror and realize your worth in your own skin...not a freak's skin on hormones...who is destined to become obese, unhealty, and who will eventually find solace in drugs and ultimately, death.
