‘Cameron cutie’ MP Nokes caught having an affair
Caroline Nokes discovered sharing London hotel room with ‘toyboy’ Tory councillor
The new coalition government has it's first fully-fledged sex scandal, if you don't count David Laws coming out as gay and stepping down after only 18 days as Chief Secretary to the Treasury.
The culprit is 37-year-old Caroline Nokes, one of the new intake of Conservative female MPs dubbed 'Cameron's cuties'. According to the Sunday Mirror, she has been cheating on her husband with a 'toyboy' 10 years her junior.
The Mirror claims to have witnessed Nokes taking a taxi from the House of Commons last Monday night after a long debate on political reform to the four-star Kensington Close Hotel off Kensington High Street in west London.
Minutes after she checked in, she opened her hotel room door to James Dinsdale, a 27-year-old Tory councillor from Suffolk and former executive of the party's youth wing. Dinsdale, who turned up wearing a blue hoodie, left after two hours and Nokes then stayed the night on her own.
Dinsdale told the Mirror: "I can confirm Caroline Nokes and I have had a sexual relationship. I have no further comment." Nokes has so far refused to comment.
The Mirror claims their affair dates back to the 2006 Tory conference in Bournemouth when, on the night of October 3, they 'sneaked off' to Dinsdale's room at the Highcliffe Hotel where they spent two hours together.
Friends told the paper their relationship was purely physical. They would meet occasionally for casual sex and also see each other at Tory social events.
Nokes first tried to win the seat of Romsey and Southampton North in 2005 general election, but failed. Posing for a Glamour magazine photoshoot of the 'hottest' candidates that year, she said: "I've been told I'm too pretty to be in politics."
She finally won the seat last month, with a majority over the sitting Lib Dem MP of more than 4,000 votes. She and her businessman husband Marc, and 11-year-old daughter, live on the edge of the New Forest.
What makes the revelation doubly embarrassing for party leader David Cameron is that he personally campaigned for her in the run-up to this election - describing her as a "good, hardworking and local young woman" - and she recently signed up to an election pledge produced by a Christian group, agreeing that sex outside marriage is wrong.
Her new coalition partners in the Lib Dems will not be impressed to hear that, according to the Mirror, she texted Dinsdale during Monday night's political reform debate, "moaning that she was bored to death".
Finally, there's the expenses issue. As the Mirror helpfully pointed out, Nokes presumably enjoyed her two-hour dalliance on Monday at the taxpayers' expense.
Her hotel room cost £129.25 as part of a three-night stay - just 75p shy of the £130 maximum members are allowed to claim for a London stay-over. ·

@Peter; her private life would be her own affair if she was in private life. Cheating on her husband, signing up to a pledge against sex outside marriage, would all be her business and none of ours. But she's an MP and therefore fair game.
I predict that her 'outing' as an all-round cheat will be the highlight of a one-term political career.
Good luck to them.Glad to see she has energy and and affection. The Mirror should publish the flirtations of their executives and reporters. I am glad I don't read the Mirror.
