Another Gore marriage hits the buffers

What's up with the Gore family? A week after former vice president Al Gore and his wife Tipper shocked Washington by announcing they were splitting up after 40 year of marriage, it is reported that their eldest daughter, Karenna Gore Schiff, has separated from her husband.

Karenna, 36, married a doctor, Andrew Schiff, in 1997. They have three children and live in New York. Friends have told People magazine: "It's amicable and they are in counseling. They are not divorced."

Al Gore and Tipper, one-time college sweethearts, announced on June 1 that they were separating, just weeks after celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary. The news took the political establishment completely by surprise. It is understood the couple simply "grew apart" and that there was no affair on either side. ·
