To Hull and back: football chants that dog John Terry

John Terry

Opposition spectators keep the philandering Chelsea captain on his toes

Warning: look away now if you are easily offended by soccer stadium chants. It is isn't pretty... but then neither is John Terry. Anyway, for the sake of those who were unable to attend the Hull-Chelsea game last night, here are some of the better chants that reverberated around the KC Stadium in the wake of Terry's affair with Vanessa Perroncel, former girlfriend of his ex-team-mate Wayne Bridge. The tunes should be obvious:

Terry, wherever you may be,
You will lose the captaincy,
Your children and your wife Toni
And all your sponsorship money.

Father of the year, you're havin' a laugh
Father of the year, you're havin' a laugh
Father of the year, you're havin' a laugh
Mrs Bridge is going down
going down
going down
Mrs Bridge is going down
going down on John Terry

On Sunday, the Gunners visit Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. With such writers and humorists among the Arsenal faithful as Nick Hornby, Clive Anderson and Alan Davies, we can no doubt expect a higher standard of refrain, perhaps something to match this classic (sung to the tune of 'Can't take my eyes off you' by Frankie Valli):

Cesc Fabregas you're the love of my life
Oh Cesc Fabregas I'd let you shag my wife
Oh Cesc Fabregas you're Arsenal through and through
