Kate Moss gets engaged to The Kills’ Jamie Hince
It will be the supermodel’s first marriage - if Alison Mosshart allows it
The supermodel and designer Kate Moss has had some notorious boyfriends in her time - none more so than Pete Doherty - and has a daughter by another former partner, Jefferson Hack. But she has never been married before.
Now, according to reports, she has become engaged to Jamie Hince, 40-year-old frontman of The Kills, with whom she has enjoyed an on-off relationship since they met in 2007.
Hince apparently flew out last week to the West Indies island of Mustique where Moss has been working, and proposed to her on her birthday, January 16. According to one report, Hince got help choosing the engagement ring from Sir Philip Green, the owner of Topshop for whom Moss has designed several profitable collections. If this it true, then given Green's taste for bling, it's amazing Hince fitted it into his carry-on.
There has been no word yet on the happy union from Hince's bandmate from The Kills, Alison Mosshart, who is always keen to talk about her "special bond" with Hince.
In a recent interview with Vogue magazine, Mosshart said: "Jamie and I are like a ridiculous married couple. He's the one I tell everything to. Our lives depend on each other. He's the closest person to me. It's the most beautiful thing. And I want people to fantasise about it."
Good luck, Kate. ·
