Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti has a lot to live up to as he tries to fill the boots of Jose Mourinho and replicate the success of fellow Italian Fabio Capello - but he has made a promising start on the pitch and now off it.

Like Mourinho and Capello before him, Ancelotti was valiant in his efforts to maintain a poker face when treated to a display of erotic dancing on late night Italian TV show Chiambretti Night.

In January Capello kept a typically straight countenance as he enjoyed a performance from one of the show's dancers while in Italy to check up on David Beckham. Three months later, Jose Mourinho, now manager of Inter Milan, allowed himself a subtle smirk during another raunchy routine.

On Tuesday it was the turn of former AC Milan boss Ancelotti, who was entertained by a sultry brunette in fishnets, thigh-high boots and little else. Ancelotti just about managed to retain his composure whilst attempting a look of feigned indifference as the dancer flaunted her curves.

Perhaps stirred into action by the performance, Ancelotti also took a swipe at Mourinho, his former rival in Milan and the man he must emulate at Chelsea.

Mourinho responded to criticism of his managerial style by commenting: "Even Jesus Christ wasn't liked by everyone." Asked for his reaction to that Ancelotti said: "If he [Mourinho] is Jesus, I am not his apostle." ·
