Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti is to smash the world record fee for a teenager by forking out £45m for Alexandre Pato - and then loaning him back to AC Milan. The News of the World says Chelsea will exclipse the former recrod of £27.5m that Manchester United paid for Wayne Rooney, but allow Pato to stay in Italy until after the World Cup.

Ancelotti hopes the offer will get them the signature of the 19-year-old. Pato was discovered by the new Chelsea boss and signed from Internacional in 2007, he scored 18 goals in Serie A last term and is a regular in the Brazil side...

The Blues are also still being linked with Franck Ribery and the Sunday Mirror reports they will bid £40m for his services...

Spurs' pursuit of Ashley Young continues and Harry Redknapp is set to make a new bid of £21m for England winger according to the News of the World. He will up his offer for the 24-year-old by £3m after being encouraged by Villa's pursuit of Real Madrid's £16m-rated Dutch midfielder Wesley Sneijder...
