Button on the money in Turkey

Jenson Button's amazing season continued as he recorded yet another win at the Turkish Grand Prix, taking advantage of an error from Sebastian Vettel to grab the lead in the first lap and dominating the race from there on.

The young German driver was clear favourite before the start - all previous Turkish Grand Prix had been won by the pole sitter and both times Vettel had started from the front he had won the race. However, after safely negotiating the opening corners the Red Bull driver unexpectedly ran wide on turn nine, and Button slipped past him.

After that it was plain sailing for the British driver, who slowly pulled away from the German driver and his Red Bull team mate Mark Webber - who ended up claiming second place ahead of Vettel. Toyota's Jarno Trulli drove solidly to end up fourth.

Button's Brawn GP team mate Rubens Barichello fared less well - he had a nightmare start and dropped from third to 13th and was then caught up in a series of dogfights as he tried to make his way through the field. Eventually he was forced to retire - the first time a Brawn vehicle as done so this season.

Lewis Hamilton, who started from 16th made little headway and was lapped for the third race running on his way to a 13th placed finish.

Button's sixth win in seven races leaves him way out in front of the drivers championship with 61 points, 26 ahead of his Brawn GP team mate Rubens Barichello, and 32 in front of Vettel.

Red Bull's second and third helped them make up some ground in the constructors race, but they are still 39.5 points behind the Brawn outfit. ·
