DSK is ‘horny from power’ says Karl Lagerfeld

‘They all do it in the political world,’ explains fashion designer who says he ‘loves’ the former IMF head

THE CAREER of John Galliano may be as good as over thanks to his conviction for making racist remarks in a Parisian bar, but another Paris fashion designer appears to have no qualms about who he upsets.

In his latest interview, Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld waxed lyrical on the subject of Dominique Strauss-Kahn, the former head of the IMF who recently returned to France after the collapse of a sexual assault case against him in New York. Lagerfeld brushed off DSK’s long history of indiscretions by claiming he was simply "horny".

He told Style.com: "He's fun, he's great. He's a sweet guy — as long as you're not a woman. That's the problem."

Lagerfeld also said he expected DSK to mount a political comeback, even though many on the French left hope he doesn't. "Even in America, Clinton survived his blow job," explained the designer, famed for his dark glasses and acid tongue. When the interviewer pointed out that at least Clinton's foray into infidelity was consensual, Lagerfeld responded: "They all do it in the political world. They get horny from politics, from power."

He also revealed that when DSK, likened to a "rutting chimpanzee" by one of his conquests, returned to France from America he sent him and his wife, Anne Sinclair, flowers. "I love DSK," he declared.

Lagerfeld also managed a bitchy aside about the guests at the royal wedding earlier this year. He worked as a pundit on French TV that day, casting a critical eye over the fashion choices of the guests. Apparently he was not impressed and recalled "the bad proportions, the ugly hats, the short skirts on fat legs". ·
