Jacobs, Moss and Timberlake in US Vogue
Trio who will host Costume Institute gala mark their collaboration with series of stunning photos in American Vogue by Annie Leibovitz
New York designer Marc Jacobs is to team up with supermodel Kate Moss and singer Justin Timberlake for this year's ultra-glamorous Costume Institute gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on May 4. The trio have marked their collaboration by appearing in a stunning photo spread, dubbed 'Inspiring Beauty', by photographer Annie Leibovitz in the May issue of American Vogue.
The theme of this year's annual benefit and exhibition is 'The Model as Muse: Embodying Fashion'. Jacobs, whose muses have included Chloe Sevigny, Sofia Coppola, Lindsay Lohan and Victoria Beckham, is to oversee proceedings as guest chairman, while Moss and Timberlake will be co-hosts along with Vogue editor Anna Wintour.
Wintour has described Jacobs as a "great, great designer [who] also has a very acute sense of how to deal with the media". It is hoped that she gets on better with Jacobs than with last year's guest chairman, Giorgio Armani: there were gasps all round when the Italian designer suggested at a press conference in Milan that he was "indifferent" to La Wintour. ·
