Sarah Palin ‘would have breakdown as president’

Poor Sarah Palin – this just isn't her summer. First, the box-office disaster that was The Undefeated - a hagiographic 'documentary' about her achievements as Alaska governor - crashed and burned in July, taking just $65,000 in its first week.

Then, Palin found her US-spanning bus tour dogged by veteran documentary maker Nick Broomfield, who made his name asking awkward questions of Margaret Thatcher and white supremacist Eugene Terre'Blanche. A trailer for the resulting film, Sarah Palin - You Betcha!, has just hit YouTube.

Now comes the release of September's Playboy magazine. Featured naked in body and thought is one Mercede [sic] Johnston, sister of Palin's daughter Bristol's babyfather, Levi Johnston.

There's no love lost between the Johnstons and the Palins, if the interview is anything to go by. The New York Post has seen the interview and reports that Johnston answered a question about Palin's suitability to be president with the following bons mots:

"I think she'd have had a mental breakdown... As governor she quit on us. What does that say about her?"

She also claimed that Bristol Palin told Levi by text message: "I prayed to God you weren't the father," after she became pregnant. And, asked what percentage of residents of her hometown, Wasilla, "can't stand" Sarah Palin, Mercede answered: "I would say 70."

Mercede also told interviewer George Gurley that Palin's son Track, a 22-year-old army reservist, was pushed into the forces by his mother to hide the fact that he was using drugs. She said: "He did OxyContin and mostly cocaine.

"He didn't choose to go into the Army; he went there because his mom made him, to get him out of the way so when she was at the convention they wouldn't know he does drugs and would think he was a patriot."
