Kate Moss wedding-fest: three-day party begins

What would attract a team of transvestites to the Cotswolds? Kate Moss’s wedding, of course

With Glastonbury out of the way, the festival London's fashion and rock elite have really been waiting for can begin: supermodel Kate Moss and her rock star fiance Jamie Hince are getting married in what promises to be the perfect antithesis to the Disney spectacle the royals treated us to in April.

The three-day extravaganza was due to begin this afternoon with a ceremony in a 12th-century church near Moss's Cotswold home in Little Faringdon. The guest list for the event, described as 'Glastonbury meets the Ritz', includes fashion designers Stella McCartney and Vivienne Westwood, Tracey Emin, Jude Law, Sadie Frost and Naomi Campbell.

At least six marquees have been erected in the grounds of Moss's country house, where the celebrations are supposed to include a troupe of trapeze artists, 6ft 5in transvestites, and performances by Iggy Pop, Beth Ditto, Snoop Dogg and possibly Shirley Bassey.

Food will be provided by the Dorchester's China Tang restaurant and the Paris Ritz, while truckloads of Dom Perignon champagne and Grey Goose vodka have been ordered for the bar.

Not one to be boringly traditional, Hince's best man will be his female bandmate, The Kills's singer Alison Mosshart. Moss's eight-year-old daughter, Lila Grace, will be chief bridesmaid.

News has already leaked that Moss will wear the wedding dress designed for her by John Galliano, an act of faith in the designer who was recently fired from Dior for making anti-Semitic remarks.

And although all cameras and phones are being confiscated upon entry, there will be pictures to enjoy eventually. Mario Testino has been commissioned to cover the event, and his photos will be published by US Vogue next month. ·
