Lady Gaga designs hat filled with live cockroaches
Red top tales: Gaga inspired by study showing insects love her music, Charlize Theron goes bald
LADY GAGA is designing a live cockroach hat after hearing that the pesky insects love her songs. The superstar has instructed her designers to create a netted cage headpiece filled with cockroaches so she can have them crawling around on her head. According to The Sun, she has grown fond of the creepy-crawlies since a study found they responded to her music more than songs by other artists. As the newspaper points out, wearing the hat will be handy preparation should her career nose-dive and she ends up in a future series of I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here.
CHARLIZE THERON GOES BALD
Fans of Charlize Theron have been questioning whether the actress had 'done a Britney' today after she was snapped with a shaved head. Theron was spotted in LA with a very short shave underneath a trilby hat. But, according to the Daily Mirror, Theron was required to lop off her long blonde bob to play the role of Furiosa in Mad Max 4: Fury Road. Speaking at the premiere of Prometheus in London last month, she said: "It's been three years: it's time to skin this cat already! I'm very excited about it."
AMIR KHAN INSISTS 'STRIPPER' WAS 'ACROBAT'
Amir Khan has apologised to fans for tweeting a picture of himself with a pole-dancer but his excuses have attracted more scorn. Last week the boxer posted a photograph of himself holding a wad of cash in front of a gyrating pole-dancer in Las Vegas with the message: "Let's play lol." The picture outraged many of his followers and his bride-to-be Faryal Makhdoom, reports the Daily Star. But the 25-year-old sparked even more derision for his apology last night when he tried to insist that the half-naked girl was "not a stripper" but simply "doing acrobatics on the pole". As one follower writes: "Acrobatics on a pole lol. U have to do better than that."
WOMAN REMOVES TROUSERS FOR SUBWAY RAT
A woman was forced to take off her trousers on a packed New York subway train this week after a "brazen rat" crawled up her leg. Ana Vargas, a 40-year-old New Yorker, was sitting on a train approaching Columbus Circle when the "terrifying rodent" darted inside her trouser leg. She told New York Daily News: "I was shaking, but nothing was coming out... I had to pull my pants down in front of everyone on the train." Vargas was taken to hospital and given a Tetanus shot but was left "traumatised and fearful about using the subway to get to work every day". The newspaper notes that the rat could not be found after the incident. ·
