Tabloid Tales: Las Vegas witness speaks out, Taylor Swift causes song and dance at society wedding

PRINCE HARRY gave a bear hug to the young woman with whom he was photographed naked in a Las Vegas hoitel in order to protect her modesty, another partygoer told The Sun. "He said, 'I'll shield you. I'll protect you. I won't let them see you'. She seemed to like that very much. There were no complaints from her. She was naked in front of 25 people." The anonymous witness said Harry was the first to lose his clothes in the game of strip billiards. "It was exciting for the girls," she said. "He was in great shape. I'm not a redhead fan but he was hot." When the party finally broke up at 5.30 am, Harry and the woman he was photographed with reportedly disappeared together.

Country singer Taylor Swift, 22, and her boyfriend, Conor Kennedy, 18, turned up at a Kennedy family wedding in Boston last weekend — but did not leave after being asked to do so twice, the New York Post reports. The person who asked them to go was Victoria Gifford Kennedy, the mother of the bride, who feared the superstar's appearance would draw attention away from her daughter, Kyle, and ruin her big day. "They texted me an hour before the wedding and asked if they could come," Victoria said. "I responded with a very clear, 'Please do not come.' They came anyway." Swift's publicist says Victoria is not telling the truth: "Taylor was invited to the wedding and the bride thanked her profusely for being there."

Paul Weller, one-time singer-songwriter with The Jam and The Style Council, has attacked bands like Blur and the Stone Roses for "cynically" reforming, reports the Daily Mirror, saying it is blocking the emergence of up-and-coming talent. "It drives me potty to be honest and I am sick of seeing it," says Weller. "It is big business at the moment and I find it really disappointing... What about the new bands, or young bands, coming in which don't get a look in?" Weller says that in his day the artists he admired always tried to push the boundaries. Today, there isn't so much of that.

Two Ryanair cabin crew are to appear before magistrates in Manchester next month charged with trying to smuggle £6,000 worth of cigarettes into Britain in their baggage, reports the Daily Mail. Gemma Phillips, 26, and Adam McEvatt, 28, were stopped by customs officers at John Lennon Airport, Liverpool after getting off a flight from the Canary Islands. They allegedly had 13,800 cigarettes in their baggage – many times the personal allowance of 800. Ryanair refused to comment but noted that the staff were off duty at the time.

Girls Aloud are approaching Olympic diver Tom Daley to join them on stage during next year’s reunion tour, according to The Sun. It follows recent gossip about Cheryl Cole asking him to teach her to dive after watching him in action on the 10m board at the London Games. The paper quotes a source saying: “The girls think it would be great to have him on stage with them. They all think he’s really cute and love him in his little Speedos.” Tom, 18, has previously admitted to having a Cheryl Cole calendar on his bedroom wall and to listening to her music when preparing for competitions.
