Tabloid Tales: Williams criticises 1D, Ashley Cole gets flirty with Kylie, Cameron fires Chief Mouser

ROBBIE WILLIAMS has taken a swipe at One Direction, calling their stage performances “frantic”. The Ex-Take That member claims he has “a lot of love” for the young boyband but said “they always perform like they’ve never met each other”.  According to the Metro, Williams added that One Direction have a lot of work to do before they reach the level of Take That’s success. He described their performances as “looking like I feel in my head”. The singer admitted he has feelings of resentment towards the teenage heartthrobs, because he is getting on, but “on the pie chart, the love outweighs the bitterness - but the bitterness is in there too”.

David Cameron has made another reshuffle at No. 10 after sacking Larry the cat as Chief Mouser to the Cabinet. It seems Larry has failed to live up to the promise that he was “a good mouser”. It took the tabby six months to make his first 'confirmed kill' last month and he hasn’t made any since. The Daily Mail reports the final straw came on Thursday when the Prime Minister watched a mouse scurry across the room while Larry continued to nap on a chair. Cameron has now drafted in George Osborne's cat, Freya, as the new Mouser of State. The new arrangement will be described as a 'job share' to avoid any hurt feelings.

Toilet users at the Standard Hotel in New York were shocked to discover they were being watched through the 10-foot windows lining the walls.  The 18th floor toilet has no warning signs so many were unaware their bathroom activities were visible to the streets below. David Langdon, 55, told the New York Daily News: “I saw people waving at me! Sitting on the royal throne, you don't expect a public viewing.” Many of the users are visitors of the hotel’s Boom Boom Room club and rooftop lounge, which is known for its celebrity sightings, including Leonardo DiCaprio and Cameron Diaz.

Ashley Cole has struck up a friendship with Kylie Minogue after meeting her at the GQ Awards last week. Since then, Cheryl Cole's ex-husband has been trading compliments with the Aussie singer on Twitter. Discussing Kylie’s video for her no.1 single Spinning Around, the Chelsea footballer tweeted: “Wow @Kylieminogue is hot in that video, spinning around, love the 90's”. Kylie, seemingly unfazed by Cole’s tainted past, tweeted back: “Hah! It was the golden 2000! Nice to meet you at GQ Awards :)”. The [2] Metro wonders if the cheating footballer is looking for a confidence boost, after Cheryl Cole recently revealed she is releasing a tell-all book that may make him “want to leave the country”.
