Tabloid tales: 'Haylor' spotted on dancefloor, Rihanna blasts Chris Brown, Paul McCartney joins Nirvana

A PICTURE of Harry Styles and Taylor Swift recreating Dirty Dancing's iconic lift has confirmed the pair as pop's hottest couple. According to The Sun, Swift and Styles, who have only recently gone public with their relationship, hit the dancefloor at a New York party as soon as I've Had the Time of my Life by Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes came on. A source told the paper: "They didn’t know it from start to finish, but towards the end they had a little chat, then she took a run and jumped in to his arms. Everyone was laughing and egging them on."

Rihanna has fuelled rumours that she and Chris Brown have split up after posting a series of angry tweets. According to the Daily Mirror, Rihanna was furious after Brown and his ex, Karrueche Tran, were spotted clubbing together at the weekend. Rihanna wrote, then deleted, "You give, you get, then you give it the f**k back" and "Goodbye muthaf**ker". Later, possibly to get back at Brown, the singer posted on Facebook a number of pictures of herself on holiday, mainly posing in bikini on a yacht, in an album entitled 'yacht vaca 2012'.

Despite this year's X Factor being described as the worst in years, the series winner, James Arthur, has made history with the fastest-selling single ever on iTunes in the UK. His cover of Impossible, originally sung by R'n'B singer Shontelle, sold 187,000 copies in just 24 hours after it went on sale. The Sun reports that it has outsold the efforts of Leona Lewis, Matt Cardle and last year's winners, Little Mix. Despite Sunday's final having the lowest viewing figure in six years, Arthur looks set to score a number one this week, as well as the all important Christmas number one the week after.

Pippa Middleton has seen the funny side after her party guide Celebrate! was panned by critics and suffered from low sales. She acknowledged the book was full of "glaringly obvious" advice – resulting in a spoof Twitter account called @pippatips which offers such pearls as "enjoy a glass of water by getting a clean glass and pouring in water from a tap or bottle". The Daily Mail reports that Middleton, famous for her pert derriere, joked: "Maybe I should write a sequel and call it Bottoms Up. Now that would be a bestseller."

Sir Paul McCartney is to front legendary 1990s grunge band Nirvana for a one-off charity concert – even though he admitted he had no idea who they were, reports Metro. The former Beatle will replace frontman Kurt Cobain, who committed suicide in 1994, for the gig with Nirvana's original drummer Dave Grohl and bassist Krist Novoselic. Grohl rang McCartney and invited him for a rehearsal, and McCartney confessed "I didn’t really know who they were. They are saying how good it is to be back together. I said 'Whoa? You guys haven’t played together for all that time?'"
