'Kimye' prepare for their 'babye' by purchasing mansion in a gated community in Bel-Air

LIKE any excited parents-to-be, rapper Kanye West and reality TV star Kim Kardashian are keen to build a comfortable nest for their as yet unborn "babye".

The loved-up couple have splashed $11 million on an "Italian-style villa" in the exclusive Los Angeles suburb of Bel-Air, says They have "already gutted" the 10,000 sq ft mansion and plan to extend it to 14,000 sq ft with the addition of a few essential extras.

These little touches include a gym, a "full hair and make-up salon", a bowling alley, a basketball court and indoor and outdoor pools.

There’s also a movie theatre, which should be useful given Kim’s new career as an actress. Her movie debut, in the big-screen drama Tyler Perry’s Temptation: Confessions of a Marriage Counselor, is in March. She plays an "image-obsessed woman", a role which, the Daily Mail admits, "isn’t much of a stretch".

But back to the 'Kimye' love nest. TMZ says it’s located in an "uber-private" gated community where close neighbours include actress Jennifer Aniston, who may or may not be pregnant herself. The couple will also be able to borrow a cup of sugar from Los Angeles Clippers basketball star Chris Paul (who can shoot hoops with Kanye on the new court, presumably) and Joe Francis, the founder of the Girls Gone Wild, erm, "entertainment brand".

Kimye will also be spending evenings with their "besties", musicians Jay-Z and Beyonce, if West’s recent activity on Twitter is any guide. The rapper has only written 29 tweets since he joined the social media site in 2010, but on Monday he abruptly deleted them all. Well, almost.

He kept a picture of himself with Kardashian, Jay-Z and Beyonce at an awards ceremony last year, adding the single word 'FAM' as a caption. That means West is trying to "frame the quartet as one big, happy family", explains Opposing Views. If only they had a karaoke room.
