Taylor Swift: Harry Styles' flirting 'was reason we split'

TAYLOR SWIFT has finally revealed why she ditched Harry Styles: she couldn't trust the One Direction singer's wandering eye, not to mention his wandering hands.

Swift doesn't address her relationship with Styles directly in the interview with Vanity Fair, but she "authorised" someone close to her to brief the magazine. The confidante says Styles "chased" Swift for a year and was "all, like, 'You're amazing— I want to be with you. I want to do this.'"

Naturally, Swift was taken in and began dating the English teen Lothario. But it wasn't long before his flirty style left her feeling deeply insecure. "I felt like he was looking at every girl."

The final straw was the emergence of a candid photograph of Styles kissing a friend 'goodbye' with what might be construed as way too much enthusiasm. Styles and the girl were "making out like with their hands all up in each other's hair," Swift's confidante told the magazine.

Swift ended the relationship, which prompted Styles to resume his wooing with renewed ardour. Eventually, she relented, but during a visit to London he "disappears one night and after that it was like he just didn't want to keep going".

The relationship didn't last long after that, imploding dramatically on a holiday in the Caribbean.

Harry Styles's representatives say the version of events presented by Swift's confidante is "undeniably false".

Meanwhile, Swift is at pains to dispel the popular notion that she has a seemingly insatiable appetite for famous men, telling Vanity Fair she has had relationships with just two since 2010.

Styles is one of them; the other is Conor Kennedy, a 17-year-old member of the Kennedy dynasty. The relationship with Kennedy was "just like a two-month thing," Swift says, and unlike Styles, he was "awesome".

Swift makes no mention of Ed Sheeran, the English singer-songwriter who was recently named as her latest beau. ·
