Strauss-Kahn ‘to pay off hotel maid’ over ‘rape’
The former IMF chief’s people have reportedly offered money to the family of the alleged victim
A month ago, Dominique Strauss-Kahn mused aloud to a journalist from Liberation that one day a "woman who has been raped in a car park [will be] promised €500,000-1,000,000 to invent a story" implicating him.
Well, according to today's New York Post, a similar scenario may be unfolding - only the New York hotel maid who is alleging a sex attack by the former IMF chief will allegedly receive a seven-figure sum from the Frenchman himself.
The newspaper claims that friends of DSK have been in contact with the maid's family in the west African state of Guinea, and have offered them money in return for their relation dropping the case.
"They already talked with her family," a French businesswoman told the Post. "For sure, it's going to end up on a quiet note. DSK will get out of it and will fly back to France. He won't spend time in jail. The woman will get a lot of money."
New York prosecutors, fearing such a move, have been keeping the victim of Strauss-Kahn's alleged assault out of the media spotlight, and have even monitored her phone calls. However, the Post claims that associates of DSK have already offered money to the impoverished wider family of the maid.
Meanwhile, Fox News reported yesterday that Strauss-Kahn allegedly resorted to the scoundrel's gambit of demanding of the hotel maid: "Don't you know who I am! Don't you know who I am?" as he attacked her. ·

I would say to the maid take the million, it will make you feel better in the long run....put him in jail the prosecutor will get a feather on his cap and you will go home broke!

If this was in the UK he may have committed a crime and he could/should stand trial whether the maid wants to proceed or not. Society at large needs to be protected from bullies.
