Fake! The Obama birth certificate rumours begin
Release of full document can’t silence the kooks who can’t believe the president is a true American
It was sadly predictable: just hours after the White House released the 'long form' version of Barack Obama's birth certificate, the conspiracy theories about it being a fake have begun to circulate.
So-called 'birthers' have questioned the president's nationality since his 2008 election campaign, claiming he was not really born in Hawaii.
There is a none-too-subtle undertone of racism to their stubborn
insistence that the dark-skinned man with the funny name must be
foreign.
In 2008, on the campaign trail, Obama's advisors released the 'short form' version of his certificate but that was not enough to stop his enemies repeating the baseless accusation ever since. Last week, putative presidential candidate Donald Trump joined in.
So, yesterday, plucked from some Hawaiian archive, came the longer certificate. And, to the delight of armchair detectives everywhere, it proved all-too susceptible to dumb accusations that it was not real.
The file the White House gave out has digital layers. Photoshop
documents have digital layers – ergo, it must be a photoshop fake!
(The hive mind doesn't seem to think it strange that the White House would forget to flatten the layers in the document before issuing it.)
Well, no. The layers exist because the printed document was scanned by software that recognises text and lifts it from its background. A cursory examination of the file shows that that's what happened here.
But no sooner is that first conspiracy theory put to rest than a host
of others spring up to take its place.
Other crazy objections to the certificate's veracity include: The
green background is too neat for a scanned document! The doctor who signed the certificate (in 1961) is now dead! There are mysterious numbers on the document!

The fraudulent person in the WH has said he didn't know where the long form was...he is a liar and a fraud. The people know this!
Trump is just a side show. He is part of the same band wagon.
Obamarama is a Nazi, he trained under Kissinger, who was associated with Dulles, Nixon, as well as the Bush family who supported Hitler during the war as well as the Hinklyey wealthy family....I am not making this up...it is all on record!!!
Well, this is like Trumps hair. It takes focus from discussing his real politic agenda. We've asked to see if its real or not - and then he just showed us the neckhairs a few years back - but now finally he reveals the full combover to show that it is TRUE AMERICAN hair! Its not an chinese produced lookalike. But already theres debate that its fake because it's in Layers - wouldn't you have flattened it out, before revealing it? - This is the level that Birthers argue at. This is the level that Donald "Nothanks" Trump bring to the debate. Its not serious - it's not honest - and it's unworthy of America.
Why, with the entire instrument of government at his disposal would the President allow such a 'fake' detectable by internet users within moments, to be issued?
Surely the US gov.inc could do better?
The CIA, that manages to make documents for US spies, such as passports, birth certificates, health cards, that can fool the top counter intelligence departments in the world, can't remember to flatten the layers of a basic US certificate?
Are you suggesting that although they had two years notice that they might need this document, they gave it to an intern to create last weekend, and no senior member of any of the branches of government thought to have a check of it before releasing it to the public?

IF it was a "real" BC it would have just been scanned into a PDF and it would be ONE LAYER.
