Lily Allen takes Kanye West to task over abortion

Lily Allen has been keeping a relatively low profile on Twitter of late, but she broke cover this week to square up to rapper Kanye West - another celebrity who is well used to getting embroiled in online feuds.
 
She was outraged by a tweet from the controversial rapper that appeared to advocate safe sex, but did so in an unusual fashion - citing the expense of paying for an abortion as the main reason for wearing a condom.
 
The Gold Digger singer warned his 2.5 million followers: "An abortion can cost a ballin' nigga up to 50gs maybe a 100. Gold diggin' bitches be getting pregnant on purpose. #STRAPUP my niggas!"
 
The message did not go down well with Allen who replied: "Never has a tweet put me in such a bad mood. This is wrong on so many levels."
 
Late last year Allen and her partner Sam Cooper were left devastated when the pop singer lost their unborn baby six months into her pregnancy. It was the second time the singer has suffered a miscarriage.
 
Both Allen and West are well known for voicing their opinions on twitter in no uncertain terms, but the last time they exchanged tweets was when Allen offered West her support when he posted a series of angsty messages referring to his ‘invasion’ of Taylor Swift's acceptance speech at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards.
 
However, it appears that whatever feelings of friendship she had for West are now gone.
 
Allen has been out of the public eye recently, and even the announcement that she and Cooper were getting married in the summer was made without any razzmatazz. Whether or not her latest proclamation on Twitter indicates that she is back from the wilderness remains to be seen. ·
