Double TV blow for Sarah and Bristol Palin

Bristol Palin loses Dancing with the Stars final as Sarah Palin struggles to keep viewers

The Palin mother-and-daughter double act has finally come a cropper on US television. Bristol Palin did not win Dancing with the Stars last night - a travesty many were dreading - and the TLC cable channel has experienced a week two audience collapse after the record-breaking debut of Sarah Palin's Alaska.

Bristol Palin made it to the final of the ballroom dancing reality show despite consistently low scores from the judges, which critics put down to the fact that her mother and other Tea Party supporters were running an internet campaign to encourage strategic public voting.

Much like Wagner’s unlikely run on The X Factor and Anne Widdecombe’s continued popularity on Strictly Come Dancing, Bristol’s huge public support saw her succeed over more able contestants week after week, angering some fans to the point where she received death threats in the post.

For a while it looked like Bristol could actually win the competition but in the event Dirty Dancing actress Jennifer Grey scooped the trophy after a run of near-perfect performances with her partner Derek Hough.

Meanwhile, to complete the double blow for the Palins, the second episode of Sarah Palin’s Alaska on Sunday attracted only three million viewers to the TLC channel - a 40 per cent drop from the show’s much feted debut the previous weekend.

The reality adventure show is not proving to be much of a campaign tool for Palin’s potential White House bid either: a demographic study has shown her average viewer is 57, which is 15 years higher than the TLC average. ·

deltagemini.. how sad and nasty.. if you don't like something it's rubbish?

I was more than willing to applaud bp for her efforts, until she implied everyone but her was "fake" and called those who didn't think she, who is not a "star" or even a celeb got on 'cause of her mommy.. and kept on 'cause her mommy campaigned for her daily.. haters.. instead of just people who did not think she should have been on that show.. or tried hard enough to legitimately stay on that show.

So.. she lost me at "fake" and "haters" and all the whining.. poor Mark had to play psychologist for her bruised ego more than teacher.

Does anyone out there, with even a tiny brain, the size, maybe, of that bestowed by the Almighty on a chicken, watch this rubbish?

Surely this is how these 'talent' shows etc are supposed to end, don't imagine for one moment Bristol Palin, Wagner or Anne Widdecombe honestly expected to win on talent alone??
