Former president said to have filmed cameo in Bangkok weeks after ‘racist’ Mel Gibson axed

Rumours abound that the former US president Bill Clinton is making a cameo appearance in The Hangover 2 after he was spotted visiting the set in Bangkok. He was in the Thai capital to deliver a speech on climate change.

Pictures posted on TMZ show Clinton talking to the lead actors Zach Galifianakis and Bradley Cooper during filming, and a separate report at People.com claims that Clinton shot a scene on Saturday.

If the reports are true, Clinton’s cameo will be a boon to the film’s producers, who had to bring in Liam Neeson as a last minute replacement for disgraced actor Mel Gibson last month.

Gibson received studio backing to play a Bangkok tattoo artist in the film but was axed by director Todd Phillips after the cast and crew objected to his involvement in the light of a leaked recording of the actor making racist and threatening comments to his ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva.

If he does make an appearance in the film, Clinton will follow in the footsteps of former Heavyweight Champion and convicted rapist Mike Tyson who played himself in the first film.

What hypocrites. The cast had no qualms about having Tyson, a convicted rapist, but Mel has to bow out; he doesn't have even the PC privilege of being a black.
