The Cartier Racing Awards 2007 drew an illustrious crowd of racing enthusiasts to London's Four Seasons hotel last night, including the Duchess of Marlborough. Dylan Thomas, winner of the King George V and Queen Elizabeth Stakes and the Prix de L'Arc de Triomphe, was crowned Horse of the Year. The Niarchos family was awarded the Daily Telegraph's Award of Merit - the accolade given to those who have done the most European racing or breeding over the past year. Great horses owned by the family, whose fortune was founded on the Greek shipping industry, include Nureyev, Miesque, Spinning World and Kingmambo. ·
