In Town Last Night: Bal de Debutante
The debutante tradition took on a celebrity twist on Saturday night when aristocratic debutantes 'came out' along with the children of a rock star and a legendary footballer. Among those taking part in the Bal de Debutante were Tansy Aspinall, the granddaughter of John Aspinall, the conservationist and gambling entrepreneur; Kathleen Kennedy, the granddaughter of Bobby Kennedy; Lily Collins , the daughter of the rock star Phil Collins; and Gemima McMahon, the stepdaughter of footballer Pele. The 23 'new debs' from 13 countries - ranging from Brazil to Japan to Poland - made their society debut at the exclusive charity fundraiser, also known as the Crillon Ball, held at the palatial Hotel de Crillon in Paris. ·
