‘Good friends’ Naomi and Lewis lead press on merry dance
If Naomi Campbell and Lewis Hamilton are, in the words of her spokesman, "just good friends", then why did they feel the need on Tuesday night to lead the paparazzi crowd on such a merry dance across London? The pair met up at a Prince's Trust bash in Camden, north London, before the fiery Streatham-born model slipped out of the rear entrance into a waiting limousine.
She was joined there by the Formula One ace - who at 22 and 5ft 8in is 15 years younger and four inches shorter than Campbell - and the car sped off across town to the Dorchester Hotel. After drinks at the China Tang bar - cocktails at £12 a go and a favourite haunt of Naomi's fellow south Londoner Kate Moss - the pair decamped through the back of the hotel into a different car. Their next destination is unknown, though Campbell's spokesman firmly insisted that they had not spent the night together.
Naomi Campbell has form when it comes to Formula One. She dated the Italian boss of the Renault F1 team, Flavio Briatore, and flew to Brazil in September to cheer on Hamilton in the Sao Paolo Grand Prix. Hamilton, who recently moved to Switzerland citing the sort of public attention that dating one of the most beautiful women in the world is bound to attract, had a topsy-turvy debut season in F1, appearing a shoo-in for the World Championship until he blew his chances in the last two races of the season. ·
