Young Hollywood is coming out to support Barack Obama in his bid to be the first black American president. Scarlett Johansson, Jessica Biel, Ryan Reynolds (The Nines), Kate Walsh (Grey's Anatomy), Anthony Kiedis (The Red Hot Chili Peppers), and Taye Diggs (Rent) are among the personalities expected to appear next Monday at a Goo Goo Dolls concert for Obama. R and B singer Ne-Yo is also scheduled to perform at the concert – dubbed the 'Los Angeles Generation Obama Concert' - on December 10 at LA's Gibson Amphitheater, with tickets on sale at a youth-budget friendly $25-$50.

Targeting the youth vote could pay off for Obama. In 2008, there will be 44m potential voters younger than 30. A recent poll shows the Senator from Chicago extending his lead in Iowa, which will hold the first Democratic caucus on January 3, with 32 per support, ahead of John Edwards and Hillary Clinton tying for second at 25 per cent. He's also within striking distance of Clinton in the key early primary state of New Hampshire.
