Photographer Sam Taylor-Wood, leading light of the Brit art movement and survivor of two bouts of cancer, has revealed how her brush with mortality has turned her into an exhibitionist. Posing naked for Harpers Bazaar's Body issue (above), Taylor-Wood, 40, tells the magazine how she lost all inhibitions and insecurities about her body while undergoing treatment for breast and colon cancer.

Taylor-Wood, famous for her video installation of a sleeping David Beckham, was nominated for the Turner Prize in 1997, the year she was diagnosed with colon cancer. In 2000 she was again struck by the disease, requiring a mastectomy of her left breast.

The artist, who is married to White Cube gallery owner Jay Jopling with whom she has two daughters, was photographed by Paul McCartney's daughter, Mary. Asked what she liked about her body, Taylor-Wood answered: "The fact that it has coped with and fought two different cancers and produced two beautiful children." Other celebrities to disrobe for the special issue include larger-than-life singer Beth Ditto and actress Sadie Frost. ·
