In Town Last Night: fashion victims out for book launch
A style-conscious crowd was at Hamilton's Gallery last night to celebrate the launch of Michael Roberts's new fashion guide Fashion Victims (HarperCollins). Hosted by Vanity Fair, the party attracted the likes of supermodel Naomi Campbell (above with the author), foppish actor Rupert Everett and It-girls Tara Palmer-Tompkinson and Tamara Beckwith.
The night didn't end there for Naomi. She was among those who had to leave to get to Downing Street for another party - this one hosted by the Prime Minister's wife, Sarah Brown, who gave a reception to honour 25 years of the British Fashion Council. Also helping to give Number 10 a shock injection of glamour were Julien Macdonald, Erin O'Connor, Luella Bartley, Matthew Williamson, Diane Von Furstenberg and Oswald Boateng.
"I know fashion and Downing Street have not traditionally mixed," Sarah Brown told them. "But I do like to think Gordon has done his bit for the fashion industry by losing a few inches over the summer." ·
