Penelope Cruz (pictured) attended the premiere of her latest movie, Vicky Cristina Barcelona, at the London Film Festival last night. Directed by Woody Allen, it is a spoof on the Don Juan myth, with Cruz playing her part to perfection alongside her boyfriend Javier Bardem and fellow actresses Scarlett Johansson and Rebecca Hall. The critics have generally praised the movie, finding Allen back on form after recent duds. The Times awards it four stars, and claims it to be the "the funniest of the four films that he [Allen] has assembled in Europe." Adds the paper's critic, James Christopher: "Yes, we are a million miles from reality, but a mere six inches from Woody's eternal obsession with sexual honesty."............... The actress Billy Piper has given birth to a baby boy. The Doctor Who star required an emergency caesarean after being in labour for 26 hours, but her husband, fellow thespian Laurence Fox, said his wife and son were "doing really well"………….. X-Files actress Gillian Anderson, 40, also gave birth to a baby boy on Tuesday, her third child. She has named him Felix, said to be a homage to the character of the same name played by Jack Lemmon in the film The Odd Couple…………… Little Britain's Matt Lucas is to ‘divorce’ his partner Kevin McGee, making them the first celebrity gay couple to separate following a civil partnership. Commentators claim their parting could prove a test case for gay divorces, with McGee, a television researcher, entitled to a slice of Lucas's considerable fortune........... American actress and comedian Tina Fey says she has to glue down her ears before she performs her celebrated impersonation of Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin on Saturday Night Live............ Katy Perry, the US singer who had a number one hit with her single I Kissed a Girl, has angered the father of stabbing victim Damiola Taylor after being photographed clasping a three-inch flick knife.
