Ballesteros fighting for his life
Spaniard Seve Ballesteros, one of the world's greatest golfers, was today fighting for his life after suffering a suspected brain haemorrhage. The winner of five majors was reported to be seriously ill in intensive care after his condition worsened following an operation to remove a brain tumour.
As reported here, Ballesteros, 51, confirmed he had a tumour after he collapsed at Madrid's Barajas Airport last month. He has been plagued by health problems in recent years and was forced to retire from golf due to a bad back.
