In brief: effigy of Ross and Brand to be burnt on bonfire

An effigy of the broadcasters Jonathan Ross and Russell Brand, 25ft high and made of papier mache, is to be burned on a bonfire in Edenbridge, Kent, on Saturday. The effigy, which shows Ross in one of his trademark garish suits holding a dog with the head of Brand under his left arm, is set to be burned in front of more than 20,000 spectators.............Amy Winehouse's husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, was released from prison on Thursday. The 26-year-old, who is often credited as the man who got the singer into drugs, was jailed for seven months in July for helping to beat up a pub landlord and perverting the course of justice. He is believed to have gone directly from prison to a rehab clinic.............Boris Becker, the 40-year-old former tennis ace, has split from his young fiancee, Sandy Meyer-Wolden, 25, admitting that the 15-year age gap was a problem............ Damon Albarn says he is thinking about re-forming his old band Blur, including bringing back the Brit pop band's former guitarist Graham Coxon………….Despite alleged bad relations between the cast members, Kim Cattrall, 52, has said she is hopeful there will be a sequel to the Sex and the City film..........
