Gwyneth Paltrow (pictured) has attempted to cast aside her squeaky-clean image in an interview with Elle magazine. First she tackles Jonathan Ross's remark that he would like to "fuck her", made on his BBC chat show last year. "[That was] hilarious to me. Very offensive to my father-in-law." The biggest misconception, explains the 36-year-old actress, is "that I'm a good [sic] two-shoes. I'm not. I'm probably less square than people think." She goes on: "Man, I wish smoking didn't kill you. I'm so pissed off it gives you cancer. Cigarettes were my upper, they were my downer. I just love them so much." And there's more: "I love good red wine. I love Guinness. I never get drunk to the point of throwing up or anything, but I get very warm and talkative"............ Roman Polanski’s attempt to dismiss his 30-year-old conviction for having sex with an underage girl has suffered a set-back. He had hoped that he would not have to return to the US to plead his case, but a ruling made yesterday in the Los Angeles County Court decreed that Oscar-winning film-maker would have to appear in person to have any chance of having the charges rubbed from the records.............Chelsy Davy, Prince Harry’s former girlfriend, has accepted a post at a Allen & Overy, the law firm whose co-founder advised on Edward VIII’s abdication.
