In brief: Disney star Miley Cyrus caught in ‘slant-eye’ row

Miley Cyrus, the 16-year-old star of Disney Channel's Hannah Montana, has been accused of mocking Asians by making a slant-eyed pose in a photograph (pictured, with Cyrus third form left) that has surfaced on the Internet. This has led a group called the Social and Political Welfare of Asian Pacific Americans to call on her to apologise publicly. It is not the first time Cyrus has been caught up in a photo scandal: last year she was forced to beg for forgiveness after posing semi-naked for a set of Annie Leibovitz pictures in Vanity Fair magazine, which were considered too raunchy for her young fan base...........
