A photoshoot for the fashion magazine W (pictured above) has fuelled rumours that Madonna and Jesus Luz, a 22-year-old Brazilian model, are an item. The 50-year-old singer, who divorced the British film director Guy Ritchie last year, is thought to be romantically entwined with the New York Yankees baseball slugger, Alex ‘A Rod’ Rodriguez. But there have been reports that the queen of pop and Luz have grown close. True or not, Luz has certainly done well out of this: before he was linked with Madonna he commanded $225 for a catwalk appearance. Now he is said to charge $135,000..........R&B singer Rihanna has cancelled a concert in Jakarta due to an assault case involving her boyfriend Chris Brown. As reported here, Brown, 19, was arrested and charged on Sunday after an incident with a women believed to be Rihanna before the Grammy awards in Los Angeles…………... Vanessa Redgrave and her daughter Joely Richardson are to star in a BBC re-make of John Wyndmam's classic sci-fi book, The Day of The Triffids………… The family of the late Bob Marley has signed up a merchandising deal that will allow them to sell drinks, luggage, stationery, hotels and video games using the reggae star's name..........The final book by John Updike, who died in January at the age of 76, will be published in April.
