If there was one show at this year's London Fashion Week that was guaranteed to exude cool, then Henry Holland's was it. His status as one of London's hottest designers was confirmed last night when a host of celebs crammed into the fashionably glamorous restaurant Quaglinos to see his latest offerings.

The 25-year-old designer enlisted his muse Agyness Deyn (pictured right) to model a collection that critics said was quintessentially Holland. Vogue.com's Dolly Jones remarked that range of oversized shoulders, bold dresses and wide-legged trousers – all of which came in a splattering of colour - "was fresh and wearable with somehow less of the silliness we've all enjoyed before - and all the better for it."

The usual suspects, Kanye West and the Geldof girls, were there, as was DJ presenter Nick Grimshaw, model Erin O'Connor and actress Jaime Winstone. According to reports, Nicola Roberts of Girls Aloud bagged herself a front row seat on the advice of her stylist who thought the flame-haired singer would look great in Holland's clothes.

Other designers who launched their collections yesterday included knitwear designer Mark Fast, Josh Goot and Bora Aksu, all of which were considered a success. But according to the bloggers, it was London-based Turkish designer Aksu who received one of the most "enthusiastic applauses" of the week for the dramatic goth-inspired collection he unveiled at the Science Museum. ·
