Royals blush at risque Winkleman film
When Freddie Windsor told his parents, Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, that he wanted to marry Sophie Winkleman (pictured), an actress, they must have been delighted. However, now there are concerns that her role in a film called Love Live Long might become the cause of acute embarrassment in the run up to the wedding.
According to the Daily Mail, the movie, which is directed by Oscar-nominated Mike Figgis, is said to include scenes that are "verging on risqué" - although the paper points out that Winkleman, 28, who played Big Suze in the Channel 4 comedy Peep Show, is never actually seen having sex.
Billed as a 'bold study of desire and moral boundaries', the film is said to have a 'raw intimacy that is sometimes unsettling to watch'. In one scene, Sophie, who plays a depressed young woman, enjoys a chance sexual encounter with a married rally driver.
It is this that has got Palace courtiers in a flap. According to the Mail, they fear the film, which was premiered last October at the London Film Festival, could be released to coincide with Sophie and Freddie's wedding this autumn to cash in on the publicity. ·
