Robbie Williams ‘to rejoin Take That’
After eating a large slice of humble pie, singer Robbie Williams has announced that he wants to rejoin Take That. The 35-year-old singer, who left the boy band back in 1995 following a long-standing feud with Gary Barlow, says their differences have been resolved and claims the boys want him back.
He told the Daily Mirror: "I'm in regular contact with them and it's looking more likely by the week. The lads all seem up for it. I think it would be fun. My head's in the right place, so the timing could be right if Gary calls… It would be good."
Take That, comprising Gary Barlow, Mark Owen, Howard Donald and Jason Orange, have enjoyed renewed success since reforming in 2006, selling six million albums and boasting three number one singles. But while they have gone from strength to strength, Williams has struggled.
Despite making four number one singles - including the mega-hit Angels - and winning a clutch of Brit awards since going solo, Williams has recently slipped beneath the showbiz radar and reportedly struggled with bouts of depression and fluctuating weight problems. His desire to rejoin the group he shunned 14 years ago has prompted both fans and critics to suggest that his reasons for the reunion now are self-serving. ·
