Kate Moss stars on Lemonheads’ album
She may always look like she's just tumbled out of bed, but Kate Moss is surely one of Britain's busiest women. Not only is she preparing for the opening of Sir Philip Green's Topshop flagship in New York this week as well as putting the finishing touches to her spring summer collection for the brand - and shooting ad campaigns for Stella McCartney and Versace - the supermodel has also found the time to lend her vocals to the upcoming album from US rockers The Lemonheads.
Moss will guest on Varshons due to be released in the US in June. The album is a medley of cover versions with the band taking on songs by artists including Leonard Cohen and Gram Parsons. Moss will appear on a cover of Dirty Robots, a song initially penned by the Amsterdam-based duo Arling and Cameron.
This is not the supermodel’s first foray into music. At the height of her doomed romance with Pete Doherty, the drug-addicted frontman of Brit group Babyshambles, Kate regularly clambered on stage to duet alongside her troubled boyfriend and even co-wrote a number of songs on his 2007 album Shotters' Nations, including You Talk and French Dog Blues.
Her penchant for singing, however, has not gone down too well with The Kills, current beau Jamie Hince's band. Alison Mosshart, the other member of the indie rock group, is reported to have told Hince in no uncertain terms that Moss would not be welcome on stage or in the studio. According to reports earlier this month, Moss tried to change Hince's mind when she accompanied the band on tour, but despite his love for the 35-year-old supermodel - it was heavily rumoured last week that they might be getting married - he put Mosshart first. ·
