Lindsay nude or Nigella coated in caramel – take your pick

LINDSAY LOHAN on the cover of Playboy and now Nigella Lawson on the cover of Stylist magazine – it’s all getting the gossip columns in quite a lather. While Hollywood’s ‘bad girl’ bares all, London’s ‘queen of food porn’ keeps her clothes on but allows herself to be photographed in luscious close-up, dripping in a golden shower of liquid salted caramel.

In short, Nigella is photographed as “a human toffee apple”, according to the Daily Mail. But the TV chef denies there’s anything remotely sexual about the pose – even if “her lips are slightly parted, her eyes shaded dark, her painted nails grasp her temples in ecstasy, and masses of sugary goo dribbles down her face”.

With what the Mail terms “faux outrage”, Nigella insists: “I’ve never done double entendre in my life, I’m not that kind of person.”

The cover shot marks Lawson’s guest editorship of the London giveaway mag, in which she explains her newfound taste for combining sweet with salty. Readers can also enjoy Lawson’s ‘badass bacon brownies’, as well as her top tips for cocktails including the ‘flirtini’.
 
Fans of Nigella, aka Mrs Charles Saatchi, will be pleased to see her return to a more familiar style, after being photographed wearing a full body ‘burkini’ on Bondi Beach earlier this year.

No such cover-up for Ms Lohan. A leaked shot of the January/February Playboy cover shows her straddling, Christine Keeler style, a bunny-shaped chair, her modesty carefully preserved.

The photoshoot inside, for which she was reportedly paid close to $1m, remains a mystery - for the time being. Playboy daddy Hugh Hefner claims the shoot is a tribute to the famous 1949 nude pictorial of Marilyn Monroe by photographer Tom Kelley. It is, says Hefner, “classy, very classy”. The gossip site TMZ, on the other hand, claims Playboy purchasers will get “the holy trifecta - boobs, ass and vag”. ·
