Greece has been handed an economic lifeline by eurozone countries, which have given it €110bn (£95bn) over three years. However, in return, Athens must make painful cuts in public spending. If Saturday's violent May Day riots in Athens (above) are anything to go by, Greek prime minister George Papandreou will have his work cut out persuading his people to accept austerity measures.
